James Brickell

I fell into massage in 1997 after signing up for an evening class because it looked interesting, luckily for my clients our teacher was also a senior teacher at The London School of Sports Massage, at the time the premier course in the Uk. So after a year studying for the IIST certificate I spent the following year commuting to London where I gained a B-Tec in anatomy and physiology and Lssm certificate in Sports Massage.

Over the next few years as well as running my own practice I worked for the British Cycling Team, attending many events including World and European Championships.

In 2003 my girlfriend and I went to do a winter season in The Alps, 4 years later we returned to the Uk. We kind of got stuck! During this time apart from skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking and drinking far too much booze I managed to do some massage, this was a most interesting experience as everyone was athletic, willing to get treatment and do what was necessary to regain fitness as soon as possible.

In 2006 we decided that our livers had had enough abuse and it was time to return to the Uk. I had worked periodically in a cycle shop in Uckfield for some years, giving holiday cover and during busy times and it was here that I found myself working full time. Bikes have always been my biggest passion, I just love riding them!

Since then Massage has taken the back seat of my tandem but has never stopped pedalling. Now I'm back and full of passion, it's time to get fixing people as well as their bikes!
